The Samsung GALAXY S II uses Android™ 2.3 Gingerbread,
the latest version of the world’s fastest-growing mobile operating system. The next generation smartphone includes access to Samsung’s four new content and entertainment hubs, seamlessly integrated to provide instant access to music, games, e-reading and social networking services.
Here’s some of the details and specs.
- 4.27-inch Super AMOLED Plus display
- 8.49 mm thin
- Runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Touchwiz 4.0
- 1 GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos (Orion) CPU
- 1 GB RAM
- 8 MP camera with 1080p HD video capture
- Bluetooth 3.0 + High Speed
- HSPA+ (up to 21 Mbps) connectivity
- Hubs: Social, Readers, Game, and Music
- Samsung Voice Solution: Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech capabilities
The company won’t have much time to remedy that,
however, as the first Galaxy S II units are expected to hit retail later
in February, initially in Europe and Asia. No public talk of the North
American market, but given the sales success of the Galaxy S family it’s
a forgone conclusion that launches in CDMA and GSM flavors is on the
horizon.
